The site allows users to search a database of nearly 400 assistive and educational technologies. It also houses related research articles on the theory and practice of using technology to improve student learning.

TechMatrix is a product of the National Center for Technology Innovation (NCTI), which was awarded through a cooperative agreement from OSEP, and is operated by American Institutes for Research (AIR). NCTI is dedicated to improving the quality and integration of assistive and learning technologies to enhance the learning experience for students with disabilities and their classmates.
