Our FND Project Directors, Tosha Littles, and Allicia Walford shared with families and professionals how the three Florida Parent Training and Information Center work and how to create effective collaboration among families and professionals to ensure everyone has access to valuable information about the special education law. Our Director of Programs Joseph La Belle presented along with our Youth Advocate, Chris Regan, on Self-Advocacy with a focus on their personal stories of success as students growing up with an Individualized Education Plan in Florida.

Dr. Monica Verra-Tirado, BEES Bureau Chief of the Florida Department of Education had the closing note of the event with a very informative report on data graduation for students with disabilities. She shared as well the department’s initiative to strengthen their efforts on mental health training for professionals, so our students and their families benefit from these supports.
