VisionConnect App by American Foundation for the Blind
Created for children and adults who are blind or visually impaired, the VisionConnect app provides a searchable directory of services available in the US and Canada. Users can find services such as computer and technology training, daily living skills training, braille and reading instruction, dog guide training, employment services, low vision services, and more.
The app also helps locate resources and tips for living independently with visual impairment—including information on products and technology, stories about living with macular degeneration or glaucoma, advice on maintaining employment, and more—as well as finding rehabilitation service providers, home survey checklists, and ideas for managing medications.
This resource was reviewed by members of the RAISE Advisory Partnership (RAP) and determined to be of “High Quality, High Relevance, High Usefulness” to Parent Centers. RAISE Center is a CPIR partner working with the seven (7) RSA-funded Parent Training & Information Centers to develop and disseminate information and resources that increase their capacity to serve youth and young adults with disabilities and their families.
