More than half of the mental health disorders will begin by the age of 14 and 75 % by the age of 24. At some point in their lives, half of all adolescents will have experienced a mental health disorder.
Early detection is important because it combats future health and mental well being. Mental Illness is treatable and should be done as early as possible.
Nearly one-third of youth will have experienced an anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder is being nervous or uneasy. All of these symptoms are at an extreme level and come on at a moments notice. There are many different types of anxiety disorders, some include generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, social anxiety, and panic disorder.
Feeling down from time to time is a normal feeling. In high school, bodies go through major changes and it can cause stress.
3.1 million young people ages from 12-17 deal with periods of major depression.
Some symptoms of depression include:
having trouble with school work,
not enjoying activities you once enjoyed,
anger and rage,
suicidal thoughts or actions,
changes in sleeping or eating habits,
and restlessness and agitation are just some.
